EMI SIG Holds 33rd Annual Meeting

For 33 years the Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group (EMI SIG) has assisted the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) maintain its mission to ensure operations are safe and employees and the public are protected in case of an emergency.

For 33 years the Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group (EMI SIG) has helped the DOE/NNSA ensure its operations are safe and employees and the public are protected in an emergency.
 
Sponsored by the NNSA Office of Emergency Plans and Policy (NA-41), EMI SIG holds an annual meeting where members attend workshops, general and concurrent sessions, and subcommittee breakout sessions.  The three-day meeting provides networking opportunities and up-to-date information for contractors and DOE personnel on a wide variety of emergency management topics.
 
This year's meeting will be held at the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, April 29-May 3, 2019.  The 2019 theme is “Emergency Management Integration: All Hazards, All Responders, All Facilities.”
 
The EMI SIG Steering Committee is seeking presentation proposals that are pertinent to the meeting theme and are useful across the DOE/NNSA complex. Individuals selected to present will be notified no later than January 31, 2019. Presenters must be EMI SIG members or sponsored by a Member.
 
The EMI SIG Annual meeting is free to attend. Participants are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and meals. Registration is limited to EMI SIG members.  To become a member and you must be actively supporting a DOE/NNSA contract or facility. Registration requires an EDMS SharePoint account.
