The Consequence Assessment and Protective Actions (SCAPA) and Hazards Assessment Subcommittee (HASC) Subcommittees have been planning to consolidate and form a new, unified Subcommittee on Technical Analysis and Response Support (STARS) for a while.   A STARS charter was drafted and approved by the EMI SIG steering committee, and the new subcommittee has been authorized to begin its work.   The consolidation reduces redundancy and better serves the DOE emergency management community and more efficiently support DOE’s Office of Emergency Management. Ivy Hidalgo-Olberding will serve as the Interim Chair of STARS and Cliff Glantz and Justin Harty will sever as Interim Co-Chairs until elections are held at the EMI SIG Annual Meeting in May.   EMI SIG thanks all of those who have contributed to the HASC and SCAPA in the past, and we hope that all the members will support the new STARS.
Please join of STARS on Thursday April 26, 2018 at 10:00 PST, 1:00 p.m. EST for their next conference call.  Contact:  Willie.Singleton@nnsa.doe.gov  for details of how to join in the meeting.
