Nextgov is offering a series of 30 minute podcasts that give insights into how Federal agencies are using emerging technologies. These engaging and thought-provoking podcasts include interviews with agency representatives and their views on how the government is doing.  They cover relevant and informative topics affecting all of us in government.

 

The first episode “How Not to End Up in a GAO Report” aired March 29 and featured an interview with Dave Powner, director of IT Management Issues at the Government Accountability Office, providing a rundown on the state of federal IT and how we got here.

The second podcast “Flying Cars, Valley of Death and Innovating with Intrapreneurs” aired April 17. Nextgov talked with National Geospatial-Intelligence Chief Ventures Officer, Christy Monaco, about the business of innovation in government. Government has big problems to solve and there are a lot of people out there with big ideas and fresh technologies to pitch. The problem for agencies is figuring out which ideas to spend time and treasure on.
